A total of 264,858 metric tonnes of asphalt has been laid down to pave over 356.7 lane kilometers at the five busiest stretches of Hwy 1 in BC.
Highway paving is a unique responsibility, quite different from municipal or local road work, because highways must safely carry higher speeds and far greater traffic volumes. To ensure this, project specifications are far more demanding, and every step of the work is held to strict oversight and control.
As of fall 2025, we’ve been fortunate to contribute to five project phases under these rigorous requirements. With each phase, we’ve treated the experience as a chance to learn and improve — whether by adopting new technology, refining our methods, or finding more efficient ways to meet the highest engineering standards.
