All Roads Has Completed All Five Consecutive Phases of Hwy 1 Paving Projects for the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit

A total of 264,858 metric tonnes of asphalt has been laid down to pave over 356.7 lane kilometers at the five busiest stretches of Hwy 1 in BC.

Highway paving is a unique responsibility, quite different from municipal or local road work, because highways must safely carry higher speeds and far greater traffic volumes. To ensure this, project specifications are far more demanding, and every step of the work is held to strict oversight and control.

As of fall 2025, we’ve been fortunate to contribute to five project phases under these rigorous requirements. With each phase, we’ve treated the experience as a chance to learn and improve — whether by adopting new technology, refining our methods, or finding more efficient ways to meet the highest engineering standards. It’s through this continuous learning, and the dedication of our teams, that we’ve been able to grow into a trusted leader in highway paving.

Did you know?

Every project awarded by the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit comes with a demanding set of "End Product Specifications," which set the bar for quality paving in the province. These standards exist to make sure the roads we all rely on are smooth, durable, and built to last.

Since 2020, our team has worked through five project phases under these specifications. We're proud — and very grateful — that each one has earned the Ministry's End Product Specification Bonus.

For us, these bonuses aren't just about recognition. They're a reflection of the care our crews put into their work, the high standards the Ministry sets, and the shared goal of building safe, reliable infrastructure for communities across BC.
